For the past 14 years, CVCA has slowly been developing an orchard, and has now planted around 90 fruit and nut trees around all areas of the Craven Vale Estate, often tucked away behind blocks of flats.

We have benefited greatly from the expertise and help offered by Brighton Permaculture at Stanmer and in winter 2021/22, the Council helped us plant 12 nut trees thanks to a government grant.

Do feel free to pick any fruit you see – it is there for you!

But we are very short of volunteers to look after the trees – notably weeding, mulching, pruning and thinning. They would thrive even more if we could give them more attention!
